Latest News For Today, Monday 25th January 2022

Welcome to 2022 at Braemar Caravan Park.

We are all looking forward, with positivity, to the coming season and all that this brings.

Exciting news first, the renovation work on the small toilet and shower block is fast approaching completion and we cannot wait to see the end results.

The Invercauld Estate maintenance team, the plumbers and the electricians, have spent many manhours within the block, during the blocks closed winter months, to ensure completion for Spring time 2022.

I will take some photos within the small facility block, when the works are completed, and post these on the caravan park Facebook and Instagram pages to allow everyone a preview before re opening.

After calling nearly all the customers on the Winter Seasonal waiting list, to offer places for winter 2021/22, we are beginning to see more enquiries and the waiting list for Winter 2022/23 is beginning to grow again.

For Summer Seasonal 2022 pitches, the invitations should be emailed to existing Summer seasonal customers around late February, this then informs us of any spaces available for Summer 2022 season.

The numbers of interested people on the Summer seasonal waiting list remains very high and in the region of 50. This is due to the limited number of seasonal customers (20) on park through the summer season.

During the closed month of November 2021, The Invercauld Maintenance Team were onsite to carry out much needed repair work to the grass EHU pitches that run along the tree line and are numbered 87 to 97.

The top layer of grass has been cut out, a new layer of topsoil was then added and new rolls of turf were laid and finally rolled flat. This will make a huge difference to all the tent electric customers who appreciate being on pitches that are on flat level ground.

Bookings are increasing now, both online and over the telephone, on a daily basis. Although there is a lack of snow, at present, and the weather has been unseasonably mild for a few weeks, the park has been very close to full on Friday and Saturday nights for the last couple of weekends.

We still have a few spaces for February half term at the moment.

Please use this link which will take you to our bookings page online.  Follow This Link To Book

Looking forward to the coming season.

Latest News From The Caravan Park Mon 13th Dec 2021

Latest News at Monday 13th December 2021

Following the clearing up of the tree debris and disturbance around park, caused by Storm Arwen, the caravan park was able to reopen on Friday the 3rd of December 2021.

It has been great to welcome all the winter seasonal customers onto the park, some return customers, who have been with us a number of years, and a lot of new winter seasonal customers, who are joining us this year, for the first time. We hope you all have an enjoyable winter season with us.

The village of Braemar have been enjoying various activities in and around different venues throughout December and in the run up to Christmas. Those customers lucky enough to be on the caravan park, last night, were treated to a rare show of fireworks which were set off from St. Margaret's church following the Christmas "Festival de Noel" .

We have been fortunate to have also had some casual touring visitors in motorhomes and touring caravans booking in and also just stopping by off the road. We have also had some visitors staying with us to try out the skiing in Glenshee on the first weekend of the ski centre opening up this season.

The work on the small toilet block refit is well underway and the difference is already outstanding following early viewing of the progress. We look forward to seeing all the plumbing works completed.

I will update the caravan park Facebook page and also Instagram with the first pictures taken once the works have all been completed. The estate maintenance team and Smiths Plumbers have been working long hours on the facility and we are all excited to see the end result.

The small toilet block, in the middle of the park, will reopen in the Spring as normal and in time for the start of the Summer season.

We look forward to a very busy Christmas and New Year period ahead.

Latest News at Tuesday 26th of October 2021

News as of Tues 26th October

We are now fast approaching the end of a very busy summer season at Braemar Caravan Park.

This summer has gradually seen a lowering of Government Levels to below zero which has meant a slow easing of the tight restrictions that were in place most of last season and the early part of this season.

We hope you have enjoyed a more free and normal time on the park this year.

The park closes at 1pm on Sunday the 31st of October 2021 and reopens on the 1st of December 2021 for the winter season. We are looking forward, with hope, to a snowy winter season for the skiers who enjoy coming to the area during the winter months.

Please remember the closing date for this years photographic competition is the last day of the season, the 31st of October 2021. Entries must be in by this date and in order that we can see them, please remember when posting the photograph on your facebook page, you must complete the sentence, I enjoy visiting Braemar Caravan Park because .................................. and also remember to tag "Braemar Caravan Park and Camping Pods" in your post to ensure we can see your entry. Good Luck !!

The prizes are very desirable for the winning entry with £100 voucher off your 2022 holiday at Braemar Caravan Park and a half day hill tour for two people with Steven Rennie, a local professional photographer and hill tour guide in the Braemar area.

Some other exciting news, the planned refit of the Ladies and Gents facilities, within the small block in the middle of the park, is scheduled to go ahead during the winter months, when this block remains closed. The materials are all on order and are planned to be delivered soon.

The excitement is building to be able to view the finished results when the small block reopens in the Spring of 2022.

We are all looking forward to a break during November and will then feel refreshed and ready to welcome you  all back at the start of December for the winter season.

Latest News At Saturday 18th September 2021

Latest News 18th Sept 2021

As we move through September the mild and calm weather seems to be continuing which is great for all visitors to the park during this month.

Bookings for touring pitches and pods, in the diary for September, remain very high, meaning weekends are fully booked for a Friday and Saturday night throughout this month.

At present, now that Scotland has moved below level 0, all onsite facilities are open and available to all of our customers.

Please remember that whilst staying with us, facemasks are mandatory within communal corridors and spaces until you are inside cubicles. Doors and windows must also remain open to create a flow of moving air through the toilet and shower areas. These measures are put in place to keep us all as safe as possible at this time.

This week has seen the winter seasonal invitations issued to our existing winter customers and also this year we are able to approach quite a few of the names, from the winter seasonal waiting list, in order that some new customers have the chance to come on board.

Work is nearing completion on the new perimeter fencing along the roadside and both sides of the entranceway at the caravan park. The original fencing had deteriorated beyond repair due to years of extreme weather taking its toll. We look forward to seeing the end results shortly.

Soon we will be heading into October which displays some remarkable tree and shrub colours on the surrounding hills as Autumn well and truly makes it's mark on the landscape.

We look forward to the change in the seasons and to the magic each season brings.

Latest News on Friday 02nd July 2021

Our toilet and shower facilities have now been open to all customers for one week now.

Customers are feeling happy and confident now that they can have access to facilities as required.

The Laundry is proving popular this year as is the drying room area.

There are signs requesting numbers to remain at a maximum of 6 people within a space at any one time, this is to keep you as safe as possible whilst using the communal facilities. Please note the laundry can only have one person inside at one time, the door has been removed to make it easier to see inside the laundry room before you enter. Face masks must be worn in communal areas as well as reception.

The weather has been very summery this last couple of weeks and the customers have been enjoying their breaks in the sun.

Some other great news to share is that Byron Bakery have taken over the baker shop in Ballater and they have kindly agreed to carry out an order and delivery service with Braemar Caravan Park.

The order list is available to view in the reception window and orders will start on Monday morning and must be in by 12noon for delivery the following morning.

The photographic competition is underway and some very good entries have been submitted with some funny sentence endings on them, keep up the good work !!. Be sure to submit a winning pic and sentence.

For all customers looking for somewhere to stop by, in the village, The Games Centre have events and food stalls set up between the hours of 10am - 4pm on each Saturday and Sunday. Be sure to visit and pick up something great to eat.

Enjoy your sunny weekend visit to us and enjoy the Braemar area and all it has to offer visitors.

Latest Park News at Saturday the 22nd of May

Since the caravan park has reopened on Monday the 26th of April, we have been very busy most weekends, with all hardstanding touring pitches booking out in advance. We have even had the pleasure of some hardy, early season, tent customers, who have taken the opportunity to get away and have a break, some putting up with extreme heavy showers mixed with occasional sunshine.

As most of Scotland moved into Level 2, we have opened up the toilet and shower facilities to our pod, tent and VW campervan sized units, without onboard facilities. All other customers must continue to use their onboard facilities whilst staying with us.

The hope and intention is when Scotland safely moves down from Level 2 to Level 1 that from our next review, these can then be available for all to use. Please bear with us as we move cautiously one step at a time.

Exciting news about our 2021 season photographic competition. Entries start from Saturday the 22nd of May and with a closing date of 31st of October 2021. All information is in reception window and a copy of the terms and conditions are also available by asking reception. Winners will be contacted within a week of the closing date.

Good Luck !!

News Update Monday 8th March 2021

Good Morning ,

Whilst we all patiently await the next stage of the route out of lockdown, it is worth recapping the information we know to date.

We look forward to The First Ministers briefing "mid March" when we may hear more detail of further re-opening of the economy.

The latest information we can provide was as discussed by the First Minister during her announcement on 23rd Feb 2021.

"a return to all of Scotland moving to at least level 3, with some possible adjustments. This could mean that from the last week of April that we would expect to see phased but significant re-opening of the economy, including non-essential retail, hospitality and services like gyms and hairdressers."

We await further information regarding the reopening of Tourism in Scotland and hope to hear in the planned mid March briefing, by The First Minister, a more precise opening date.

The bookings diary for the caravan park is available for customers who wish to place bookings for late Spring onwards and is accessible on the main page of this website.

Further updates will be published as and when more information is received with regard to opening dates and any restrictions that may be imposed on Scotland's caravan parks, such as have been placed on caravan parks in other areas around the UK.

Take Care and Stay Safe and Patient at this time.

News Update Tuesday 16th February 2021

Earlier today, The First Minister has explained her intention to discuss a route map, which would safely ease the country out of the current lockdown, during her broadcast next week.

We were all excited to hear this and look forward, with anticipation, to hear the plans next week and hope the statistics continue to head in the right direction.

Take care at this time.

We will await further announcements at the end of January and the caravan park will reopen when Government travel restrictions permit and it is safe to do so.
