The Snow Roads

The Snow Roads Scenic Route is a 90 mile journey from Blairgowrie to Grantown-on-Spey traversing the highest public road in Britain and travelling through the outstanding landscapes of the eastern Cairngorms.

The road passes through Braemar, Ballater and Tomintoul, and whether you're interested in visiting natural or cultural attractions, there's something for everyone to visit. Three stunning Scenic Route Installations are located in some stunning locations where you can stop and explore this wild and beautiful highland countryside.

Braemar Caravan Park is a perfect place to pause and enjoy this spectacular area. Whether you're touring with your caravan, motorhome or campervan, or you stay in one of our beautiful Camping pods, we are located on the edge of the village, making it an ideal location for visiting the many things to see and do in Braemar.

And if you're making a longer tour of Scotland, why not link the snow roads route to other routes such as the Whisky trail, the Castle trail, or the North Coast 500.

The Snow Roads are slow roads. Take your time, enjoy the views, Visit the beautiful villages and attractions along the route.

You will encounter Steep hills, ‘blind’ summits and tight bends, so you'll need to drive with care and courtesy. On narrow sections please use the passing places to allow others to continue on their way.

Warning this route traverses the highest roads in Britain – it’s called the Snow Roads for good reason. Please check the weather forecast and follow any travel warnings.

This is a really spectacular journey and we look forward sharing it with you.
